The team's greatest fan has turned into their greatest threat as he uses their secrets against them--all in the name of getting their focus back on what matters. To accomplish his twisted goal, he cripples the Watchtower and brings the Justice League literally back to Earth! The doomed headquarters has crashed in Africa, and a fight over salvage rights turns into a humanitarian crisis. The Red Lion, ruler of a ravaged country, has hired ruthless villain Deathstroke to intervene on his behalf, and the team becomes the only thing standing in the way of a slaughter. The first Rebirth incarnation of the Justice League concludes, mixing action with human consequences as the team is forced to confront issues that can't be settled with superpowers. Collects Justice League #39-43, by Eisner Award-nominated writer Christopher Priest (Deathstroke) and artists Pete Woods (Robin), Ian Churchill (Teen Titans) and Philippe Briones (Aquaman).

Freely I gave it a one hundred page chance, but I can barely stand irritable child crazy pre-teens in real life so there was no way I'd get through a whole dictionary of it. The author is charming and funny in radio quizes, but I never saw that in the dictionary.

Although I read this many generations ago, I have agreed with my ESL student that this would be enjoyable rendition as our next baby. I hope that we can finish this. It is long ! Our progress has been slow, in party because of unexpected doldrum. We have agreed that we will have to abandon this lovely speller becase of its length and intervening personal make a differences.

Foremost in the Discworld books, this book is a hoot. No commitment to explain if you know Terry Pratchett. If not, think DOuglas Adams and Hammer Gaiman with a submarine worthy of Flashman. I've only read a connect of the Discworld books, and I look forward to more.
